Beep! Beep! Beep! Fancy him once again announcing furiously the break of dawn! Can’t he ever drive his message in a whisper? A chimera!
I am not an owl by nature, but all the same I find it sooo hard to get up, especially these days when I spend hours on end ‘playing with my toy-tools’. Educational game, I would say. I’m learning as much as I would’ve never imagined with this glorious cyberband. They opened a new world to me. A journey of self-discovery. Wonder spots, their every nook and cranny illuminated with strings of coloured insights!
Tweetie’s always been my weakness and, as the early bird that I have to be, I cannot but have him in my blog. He might give me burst of energy to stand on my feet. Who knows? Surely, I’ll wear a morning-through-evening smile because I’ve been granted the licence to be doing what I like. Amen to that!

“The art of Teaching is the art of assisting discovery. You can teach a lesson for a day. But teach curiosity, you teach for a lifetime. When truth stands in your way, you are headed in the wrong direction. When teaching the love of truth, never lose the truth of love. The mediocre teacher tells, the good one explains, the superior one shows, the great one inspires. Teachers are precious people who cause joyful happenings in the hearts of children.” (Folk culture)
A newbie reaches cyberspace. Great inspiring voices would whisper precious words: ‘take little steps, start small.’ Every single click opens up a new world. Every single word contains truth of love. Every single happening deserves kudos to you!I’m having the JOY of a lifetime, joyful discoveries, joyful lol. Joyful Learning is working wonders!

“Nothing is as easy as it looks. Everything takes longer than you expect. And if anything can go wrong, it will at the worst possible moment.”
This rings a bell! “Take little steps, start small,” a wise voice whispers in the background. How very true! Hours and hours blogging around in cyberspace. Try this tool, no good. Another one, even worse. Yes, I like this one better. Why hurry? A vested interest in seeing this blog grow, perhaps. How do I learn best? Hands on and online help, for sure. I’ve kept flying instantant messages to buddies, and that has bred my perseverance – which leads me onto another thought.
This is something I bookmarked today. “Independent learning requires that people take responsibility for their own learning. Individual responsibility stems from the belief that learning can be affected by effort, and this belief is the critical factor which leads to individuals’ perseverance in the face of obstacles.” (Saskatchewan Education. Understanding the Common Essential Learnings Regina, SK: Saskatchewan Education.)
Much as I may have read about the subject, this came in just timely. Then, it is certainly more meaningful than ever. How many times can my trainees grasp the essence of what they read when the topic is not something they are experimenting at present? Doesn’t this teach me a lesson? Shouldn’t I be creating the learning conditions if I replicate this in the clasroom? After all, if I hadn’t been persevering myself I wouldn’t have made the cognitive connection.
How about having my trainees learn something they Know little or nothing about? I mean something that is not related to learning and teaching, but something through which they might find their own way around. I suppose that their readings on independent learning will be transparent afterwards. There may be a WOW factor!

Geese

“As each bird flaps its wings, it creates an uplift for the bird following. By flying in a V formation, the whole flock adds a 71% longer flying range than if each bird flew alone. Whenever a goose falls out of formation, it suddenly feels the drag and resistance of trying to fly alone and quickly gets back into formation to take advantage of the lifting power of the bird immediately in front. When the lead goose tires, it rotates back into the formation and another goose takes over at the point position. The geese in formation honk from behind to encourage those up front to keep up their speed. When a goose gets sick or wounded or shot down, two geese drop out of formation and follow him down to help and protect him. They stay with him until he is either able to fly again or dies. Then they launch out on their own, either with another formation or to catch up with the original flock.” (Unknown source)
WHAT’S IN A GOOSE?
Nothing in a goose per se. The proof of the pudding is in the geese and in their V-formation. Why have I been attracted by this piece? Well, it seems that the full nuance of ‘collaboration’ has hit home as I heave into cyberspace. If it weren’t for my flock, I wouldn’t be getting into a flap, learning to fly AND having fun & F.U.N. In fact, I’ve fallen out of formation more than once lately – lucky enough not to feel the drag. A warm-hearted somebody would invariably lift me at a click, and a honk would follow. There’s no time to tire in this formation, mods, co-mods, or fellow gueese are always taking over. Btw, is it coincidental that mods and co-mods fly in twos?” I no longer wonder…

Time to start my blog! It’s bliss to lie back in my own shelter and imprint bits and pieces to uplift the soul. What shall go into it? Anything and everything that has taught me something, that is worth remembering, that is fun and thoughtful at the same time. Fleeting glimpses. That’s the spirit!
Have a look through my window!
